Who are you? What do you do?

I’m Kate and I’m an artist. I work with different materials and media like acrylic & oil paintings, sketches & art on paper, street art & digital art.

Where are you from?

I’m from Moscow and currently living in Tel-Aviv.

Your style in 3 words?

Abstract Color Textures

Your weakness? Your strength?

Impatience, obsession with any of ideas so much that I forget about everything else, it is difficult for me to find a balance and I can forget to sleep or eat. It’s not right, but it helps to create, so this is one of my strength too.

What makes you different?

Due to the fact that I paint a lot with my hands, fingerprints get erased. I can find inspiration in everything: in the way a passer-by sneezed in the street, in the texture of a rubber hose, in the smell of welding.

When did you decide to become an artist?

When I was 3 years old.

What do you find most fascinating about your work?

For me, the creative process is an opportunity for endless research when inspiration, ideas, life experiences are transformed into a work and transform also myself. It’s always a new experience, it’s pure magic and freedom.

A few words about your favourite creation?

I’m always completely absorbed in what I’m working on at the moment and it seems to me that this is the best I’ve done. But then I start something new …

Someone else’s work that inspired or inspires you…

The world is full of people whose work and personalities inspire me… Malevich, Rothko, Matisse, Basquiat, Heather Day, Saeio, Anny Wang, Guido Bisagni(108), Klub7 collective, Guy Yanai…

A new project coming up or an idea you want to work on?

I want to make a series of canvases of large format and draw on the walls in the street. I’m interested in the dialogue between the city and the workshop, between the white canvas and the garbage can, between personal and public.

Finish the sentence „More important than my career is…“

Relations with intimates, travel, dinosaurs.
