Your weakness? Your strength?

I’m cancer. Hard shell, soft core.

What makes you different?

My background. Born in Albania. Grew up in a refugee camp in Germany. My fight for my freedom as a woman.

When did you decide to become an artist?

I always was a creative person. But it took me some time to let all my feelings out.

Do you choose your art form, or does the form choose you?

I think the form is choosing me.

What do you find most fascinating about your work?

The melancholic mood makes me do such colorful artwork.

A few words about your favorite creation?

My “Dreamscape” series. An homage to Hilma Af Klint and a sneak peek behind my emotions.

What surprised you most about your first art shows? Someone else’s work that inspired or inspires you… Who would you like to work with someday and why?

I love everything about hilma af klint and her work. Would love to work one day with Eser Gündüz. I adore his artwork so much and would love to make an artwork together with him. Because why not?

2023: Where are we going?

Where we’ve never been before.

Do you think about time as an artist?

I don’t think about time, I paint.

When the going gets tough…

I start flying.

Put on your future vision glasses: What direction is our generation moving in, what will our world look like in 50 years?

Our generation is moving …I hope that it will look like in a “Wes Anderson” Movie.

What would you do if you could change the World?

A lot! But it will never be enough as long as the violence will exist.

What does freedom mean when it comes to art?

Having the opportunity and the privilege to show the world my inner feelings, without getting abused.

If the universe is everything and it’s expanding, what is it expanding into?

Into Infinity.

Tell us about your future plans…

Still painting…

What are your favorite spots in your city?

Ever changing, but some all time favorites … Restaurant Remi, the Philharmonie, the Botanical Garden, Markthalle 9

A book that everyone should read…

Benedict Wells “Vom Ende der Einsamkeit”
