Who are you? What do you do?

I’m an artist living in Berlin. I work with various media photography, drawing, painting and sculpture, mostly analogue. My interest is body and form, not only humans but also animals, monsters, buckets, closets and recently kettlebells and dumbbells. I love colours and when something is not “proper”. Humor and pain go hand in hand.

Where are you from?

Leipzig, Germany

Your style in 3 words?

Personal, humorous and exhilarating.

Your weakness? Your strength?

Being too heterogeneous. Being very heterogeneous.

What makes you different?

I’m not sure. My love for (body) hair, maybe?

When did you decide to become an artist?

When I was in art school. Before I wanted to become a fashion photographer.

What do you find most fascinating about the creative process/your work?

I like that I don’t know exactly what comes out in the end.

A few words about your favourite creation?

“Victoria” is a ceramic I recently made during a residency in Zurich. I tried to find out how far I can push the coil technique I used, which is a sort of beginners technique to work with clay. I like Victoria’s fragility and the glazing which turned out being quite expressive. I’m also very happy about the mirror column I found on eBay Marketplace. It’s the perfect throne for it.

Someone else’s work that inspired or inspires you…

Paul Thek, Rose Wylie, Nicole Eisenman, Fischli & Weiss, Amelie von Wulffen, just to name a few.

Who would you like to work with someday and why?

With someone who has a big studio and a big kiln

A new project coming up or an idea you want to work on?

My current project is a new studio or at least a storage space. I work at home and now with the sculptures it is getting tight. It’s not easy to find affordable space in Berlin, so wish me luck! Afterwards I will concentrate on my first institutional solo show, which will take place in 2020.

Finish the sentence „More important than my career is…“

having a good time at the gym

2019: Where are we going?

Hopefully not further in the wrong direction. The raise of racist parties in Europe is horrifying.

When the going gets tough…

I keep on going

Your city’s favourite spots?

Ice cream parlours and ping-pong tables

Put on your future vision glasses: What direction is our generation moving in, what will our world look like in 50 years?

I have no idea

If the universe is everything and it’s expanding, what is it expanding into?

Into a dirty gay bar with sad music but lots of love

Tell us about your future plans…

I’m working with my fellow „Zofen“ (gentlewomen, that’s how we call ourselves) on the 11th issue of the magazine DIE STREICHELWURST. Das Magazin. The release will be in autumn 2019, so watch out!

Last but not least: what is your favourite Song?

Princess by Tami T

One last statement please: „Wood or stone, gold or art?“
