On pages 148-151 we interview the entrepreneurs behind five different start-ups in fashion, art and design in Europe and the US. GersonZevi.com, an innovative online art gallery created by Matteo Zevi and Alex Gerson, is one of them and this is the continuation of their interview:

How did it all start?

As we got to the end of university, and all our friends were planning to move to New York, we kept hearing from them that there was no good place to buy great art for their apartments. We also knew that many of our talented artist friends were struggling to sell their work in the complex and unforgiving climate of the NYC art world. We knew something was wrong, and decided to make it our top priority after graduation to bridge this gap by creating a truly revolutionary online art gallery.

How much of your success to do owe to “hard work”, how much to “luck”?

So far 100% hard work, but once we launch to the public, we will need a lot of luck to make our concept a success in such a competitive marketplace.
