Who are you? Where are you from? What do you do?
Philip Müller, a painter and performer – born in Vienna (*1988).
I live and work in Vienna, Bregenz (Austria) and Piemonte (Italy).
Your style in 3 words?
romantic-anarchical, complex and greedy
What is your weakness?
Getting lost
What is your strength?
I am probably the best contemporary figurative painter.
What makes you different?
Politeness
A few words about your work?
My work is a constant trial of giving an imaginable coexistence to the extremes society creates. By this I add an absurd decadence to my works or I create just a mere reflection of life.
What inspires you?
cheese, nudity, clear water
How do your face uncertainties/Times of uncertainties?
I tackle my uncertainties whilst sleeping or during the work process.
Any new project coming up, you want to tell us about?
At the moment I am working on a three-part exhibition. The first part will be shown at Art Cologne, the other two parts will be displayed at carbon12 for 3 weeks in Dubai. The exhibition of actual stages allows the observer to become part of the directing process. This set-up shall encourage the viewer to restage scenes and images in never-ending variations.
