A graduate of London College of Fashion, Stine Riis was nominated Best Student Worldwide by Italian Vogue in September 2011.
In a highly aesthetic way Stine Riis’ work celebrates damage and the possibility of overcoming it, with timeless and ageless items covered in original yet subtile prints. Unlike most graduate Collection this one is very wearable although not loosing it’s conceptual/ artistic flair. With ‘Decadence & Decay’ (F/W 2011 ready-to-wear collection) the designer investigates the inter-relation between form and decay: Riis collection incorporates a range of luxurious fabrics (wool, silk, patent leather, fur) to examine time’s invisible hand in transfiguring sculptures which are used with a great variation, also in detail, such as patent leather pockets on the coats.
