Potsdam has a new Museum! The Museum Barberini is located at the Old Market Square, next to St. Nikolai Church. The Current Exhibition “Rodin in Dialog with Monet” shows 15 sculptures by Auguste Rodin and seven paintings by Claude Monet.
The next Show “From Hopper to Rothko: America’s Road to Modern Art” opens on June 17 to October 3, 2017. The exhibition will provide a panorama of subjects and styles ranging from Impressionism to Abstract Expressionism – taking visitors on a journey through landscape art, portrait painting, and cityscapes to Colour Field Painting, with works along the way by George Inness, Marsden Hartley, Georgia O’Keeffe, Richard Diebenkorn, and more. A trip to Potsdam is worth it!
