Every spring, during the Salone Internazionale del Mobile (17-22 April) Milan welcomes design lovers from all over the world to it’s biggest furniture fair. The fun part however is always the Fuorisalone, which translates into ‘outside the fair’ and, esentially comprises everything that happens contemporarily to the official event. From Brera to via Tortona or Lambrate, independent design fairs pop up all over town turning Milan into an open air exhibition where every space, gallery and shop shows off it’s makings from design to art, fashion or architecture. Although the incessant rain, armed with wellies and umbrellas, we ran from spot to spot together with the 330 000 visitors that attended this year’s happenings.
